Preparatory Survey on the Cross-border Road Network Improvement Project (Bangladesh), Traffic count survey, Roadside OD interview survey with Traffic Counts, Data collection survey

MSL would responsible for the 4-traffic survey under this preparatory survey named a) Traffic Count Survey, b) Roadside OD Interview Survey with Traffic Counts, c) Axle Load Survey with Traffic Counts and d) Data Collection Survey. For the Traffic Count Survey, 6 survey locations covered to count the volume of Traffic whereas, for 3 locations a period of 24 consecutive hours had observed to count the traffic and 3 consecutive days for the rest 3 locations. For the Roadside OD Interview Survey with Traffic Counts, 5 survey locations were covered for a consecutive 24 hours counting and 14 hours Origin-Destination (OD) Interviews. For 2 locations, weight of the vehicles using the axle load scale with traffic count was conducted in the Axle Load Survey with Traffic Counts. Finally, secondary data from various sources were collected for the Data Collection Survey on Trend of import/export volume handled at Land Port (vehicle Value (TK)/year or Ton by commodity/year); Trend of traffic volume by vehicle type through Inland Land Port; Ferry traffic at various ferry terminals; Trend of population and GDP in Bangladesh; and Trend of population and GRDP growth by district. A total of 15 survey locations around the country were covered by this survey as well as the survey team had visited various agencies to collect the secondary data.
